:cry:hello, i have a 56plate grande punto and i was hit by a toyota rav4 on friday. now....my car is at a garage and they have done an estimate for the insurance company to the value of £2200. My car needs a new bumper, new headlights, new horn, repairs to the drivers side wing, new radiator, new bar which fits behind the bumper, and they need to check out me steerin. I'm abit worried that the insurance company may write me car off..and was wondering if you guys think they will. i mean its only 2 yrs old and 15,900 miles on the clock. do you guys think they'll write it off?:( 56 plate grande punto 1.2 active.

cars usually are written off when the repair cost is same or bigger than the cars value before the accident.

if they write it off - buy it back and get it repaired. u will be quids in.

Depends upon the insurance company.

Some will write it off if it's going to cost more than 40% of book value

Which would mean if your Punto is worth less than £5500 then the answer is yes, but that's only what I've been told and can't see the logic in it.

You got any pics? Were you driving at the time and did the airbags deploy? From what you've described, I personally can't see if being written off, but unfortunatly you never know :(

Jon.
