Hi I am fitting a wifi router in my motor home and I am thinking of installing the antenna cables up the tv ariel tube to the outside of the van to save having to drill through the roof of the motor home has anybody got any thoughts

Hello @Gdow

Is your aerial a height extendable rotatable type? - If so what’s your plan to allow the cable to exit the aerial tube whilst being waterproof and flexible for aerial rotation at the same time?

I get your wish to not create another hole( I’ve got the same dilemma with my plan for extra solar panels) but you should already have some big holes in the roof for skylights, what issue is one more small hole going to create and would it not be technically better to fit your WiFi router as the manufacturer intends, separately, spending as much time as it takes to properly seal it to the roof?

Have you got solar on the roof? - could you fit a double gland seal and utilise the hole the solar cable passes through?

If you have enough funds, what about one of the Maxview combined aerial/wifi units, circa £450, utilising your existing aerial hole?
