Technical Wierd noise

Ok my brava makes a wierd noise at low revs. If im in 3rd gear at about 1500 revs and put my foot down there not much perfomance gain which i expect at low revs but i hear a wierd sound...not so much a whirring sound more like a course whirring. Like the sound from a tv when its got no signal and theres the white fizzing. I cant explain it very well sorry.
It dosent vibrate or do anything wierd just the sound then it will go away once the revs build up.

Also if i dont put my foot full down....maby half way down it wont make the sound.

It could have something to do with air intake, maybe the engine is trying to compensate by intaking air. This could mean that your air filter might be making the noise.
What do you think Jug?

Could be but it made the same noise before i go my induction kit. I would have thought the noise would have changed slightly?

Come to think of it I also noticed it on my car a couple of times, but only when the revs were too low due to cold... I believe it's the sound of air being sucked in order to compensate.

I have noticed that after i come off the motorway it does it more then goes away which i assume is the ECU changing the ammount of air taken in or somthing?
