Ordered my suposedly original wishbones from Shop 4 Parts and they arrived today but are made by Birth...
Now I know Fiat don't make their own parts but I expect them to at least come stamped with fiat or come in fiat packaging like everything else I ordered..
What shall I do?

yeah ive been conned a bit...
making out that you are saving 75% on original Fiat prices.....well you would if they supply pattern parts!! i didnt pay attention to desciption really either it doesnt say who the manufacturer is i just assumed it was Fiat...lesson learned

Car manufacturers don't make every part they use on their cars themselves.
Many of the parts you buy with Fiat (or any other maker's name) stamped on them (or in Fiat packaging) aren't made in-house.
You're just paying extra to get it from a main dealer instead of another company.
Pattern parts should be made to a similar standard as the originals.
With simple items like a wishbone, you should be OK.
If it's something more complex/technical, such as an electronic component, or a cylinder head say, you have to weigh up the savings against a possibly shorter lifespan of the item.

you will probably find birth make all the ones fiat buy anyway

:yeahthat:

Fiat have a lot of sup-component companies built up around their operation. They will produce original components at a set price for a certain number of units, with the option to produce from the patterns, components direct to the motor factors trade.

Thus the term, pattern parts.
