Having once owned a mk5 Fiesta Zetec S in IMPERIAL BLUE (luv that colour color!), i changed the sidelights many time, i tried the xenon effect sidelights which were rubbish, tried the 4 led sidelights (same as in the above link) which were ok but didnt have much width, tried the 6 led sidelights which didnt fit! Have also tried the ones with one led pointing forward and 4 leds pointing each way on the side, still not very effective. I still have a bag of sidelights, all different colors and styles.

But this was on a fiesta, not a stilo. Changing the lights on a fiesta was as easy as that. Remove the cap, change the light and replace the cap, DONE!

God i wish it was that easy on the stilo. My car had its MOT on monday with a set of philips blue vision sidelights which are slightly better but not the xenon effect. I've had a play with the stilo's sidelight many times and i always get grief every time yet i never learn my lesson. So yesterday i went to try and change them over again, for a set of high powered white LED sidelights. I went for the easy option first and took on the drivers side.

Heres with the first one changed...

I like the new sidelights but they're a bugger to fit because they're slightly longer but the main problem is they they don't lock into the sidelight holders so they fall out easily. I gave up eventually and stuck with the philips blue vision.

Oh, and don't bother with those leds off ebay. They're rubbish and nowhere near as bright as mine. Admittedly mine cost over £7 each but you can't put a price on quality! Here they are: http://www.ultraleds.co.uk/ultimate-501t10194-watt-ultra-xenon-white-p-1684.html

Very professional company and my bulbs were sealed in a neat little package! I got 4 of them lying around now and wired together, they make a very good FLOOD LIGHT!

Sorry for the long post... (y)

Yes the bulb on the right is the led. I'm not sure if it would pass the MOT but because its so hard to change over, i didn't gamble it. Also, you'll get a bulb failure warning with the leds, it appeared on the dashboard but it went away after a bit.

The leds from ultraleds.co.uk, those ultimate ones, they really are ULTIMATE!! Also they're regulated and work no matter what way you fit them. Oh, and they're very VERY BRIGHT! They don't project the light directly forwards like a small beam but instead they are a wide angle and project light everywhere and are much more effective in the cars headlight reflectors.
