Hi guys,
got a 999cc FIRE engine on mine. About a month ago my mechanic took of the starter motor to service it. He put it back in and it now works fine. However when starting in the morning I can now hear a whining noise coming from the engine. This only happens for the first 3-4min and when the engine is till 2000rpm. After 2000 the noise dissappears completely. It is a whining noise (sorta like a supercharger), not the slipping belt type of noise. Any ideas what it could be?

I have a similar problem. Mine wines like a pig that is squealing. I very recently changed my timing belt, fan belt and tensioner pulley also.

Is there a chance something is slipping or could I have had faulty parts fitted?

Thanks in advance

Seems the fan belt loosened a little after fitting. Moved actuator and now all is good! I have a new water pump so will change that when its warmer!
