Styling Whine under acceleration Turbo??

Hi all...new to this

I have a 53 plate 115 1.9 JTD, 58k, which I am mega happy with except under hard acceleration it makes a strange whirring noise for about 3 seconds and then the noise stops. It is a very defined noise and only seems to happen when accelerating up to go from 1st to 2nd

I would say is not belts, it is not that screeching noise.

I heavily suspect is turbo related... do they all do this and if not does anyone know what it may be?

At a guess and reading a recent similar post its prob a semi open/closed egr valve.
