after sum1s help iv now decided to go for this buying tyres online... seems great. :0)

i would like peoples help with my choice tho..

my options thus far are.

Toyo T1 R
Falken ZE 512
Pirelli P6000
Yokohoma

or if sumone has any other ideas within a 50 - 65/70 pound price range..

whats good..?

any help would be great.. thanx..

Tim.

I got the Toyo Proxies on my car and it handels well.

Tim,

all the tyres you mention are quality brands. It comes down to personal preference and getting a good deal!
I rate Avon tyres, they've always been great. Evidently now owned by Cooper Tyres (which I've never tried).

The main thing is choose good quality tyres, they could save your neck one day.
Budget makes can be OK (Barum from Czech Rep' are quite good yet still cheap) but in the main you get what you pay for.

uniroyal rainsport!!!

for this time of year you can't fit a better tyre in my opinion..... and i always have an opinion!!!! ;)

I swear by Goodyear Eagles.

Of the bunch that you have listed, my preference would be the Pirelli's.

I would say from that list you gave, the pirelli's
But i hear alot about uniroyal rainsport, but thats probably because TommyK is so loud! ;) j/k bud. I've heard good things about the proxes, both the T1-S and the newer T1-R. Although i also understand they wear quicker than most (they are cheaper in the first instance though)
I've been VERY happy with my Michelin Pilot Exalto 2's but they are pretty expensive. They have tons of grip, and wear really well. I got 20k out of a pair on my front wheels in a 1.8
've been less happy with the Yokohama A539's which replaced those front michelins. They dont have anywhere near as much grip in the wet as i'd become used to. They break away quite progressively though, which is good because you can feel it when you are at the limit, and not just after you've passed it, but that limit is comparitively low.

In summary, if thats your final shortlist, i'd go for the P6000's

thanx everyone.. given me a lot to think about there, and it seems like good well thought out advise.. so cheers for that.

i think im now battling it out between the toyo and the pirelli P6000.

the two quots that iv had for them work out at £250 for the Toyo and £252 for the P6000 so that dosent help me pick a winner. :0)

so they both grip pretty well, i like the tread pattern of the Toyo more.. but i dont think that should effect my choice .lol.

has anyone else had experiance of the Toyo wearing down faster..???

cheers chaps..

Tim.

Definately the Toyo T1-R's very very good in dry conditions and just as good in the wet. The wear slowly and are very comfortable with very low tyre noise. The Toyo's T1-R score better than all the other tyres you've mentioned. I use mysite.co.uk to compare aswell as the site below.

The best place for prices is http://www.tyresite.com part of rochford tyres. Really good prices sometimes £15 - £20 cheaper than mytyres.co.uk per tyre.

wow... they are cheap.. good stuff... but then im gona have to find sumwhere to fit them... do most smaller garages just fit tyres u bring in off the street.. i know kwik fit wouldnt due to them being not theres and not being able to garentee them (code for that there bitter about losing out on ur money im sure) :0)

I agree with Tommy!

Just had 2 more Uniroyal Rainsport's put on mine for Winter, they are the best tyres for this sort of year, very very good grip in the wet, and a gentle breakaway when they do start to slide.

Toyo's are a budget/mid range tyre that will wear infinitely quicker than a Pirelli. Having said that, I had them on my 155 HGT without problem but they weren't the most confidence of filling tyres.

Go for the Pirelli's if there's only £2??????????? difference as they willl outlast a Toyo without doubt.

I can also highly recommend Rochford Tyres in Essex, good prices and free delivery on tyres to any mainland UK address, I paid £120.40 for two Uniroyal Rainsports.

Pirelli's are a worse tyre when it comes down to those that have used them. Always good to check review sites before you buy. Theres the odd one who doesn't like the tyre but 50 more who praise it.

Do your research and buy your tyres.

I recommend Toyo's. Better overall tyre. Even rated better than the Pirelli P6000's and the Uniroyal. If i'm not mistaken cheaper too.

i agree with toyo's wearing preety fast. like RR said they are basically a budget sport tire. i havent had P6 but from what i have heard you should get more miles with them. as for uniroyal ,thier rally is last on most of the test, and rainsport didnt do to great either.
check here

for some test.

The P6000 were the original tyres on my bravo.
They're cool!

And not too expensive : 300€ for 4 tyres with 195-55-15!

i have continental eco tech tyres. the handle well and are not easily worn
