General Which models of the MK1 Punto have power steering?

Can someone tell me which models of the MK1 Punto have power steering? I know the S doesn't (because that's the one I have).

The GT will have it, but on the lower models it was a very expensive option, so very few will have it.

Personally, I'm not a fan of power steering, but I realise that it is essential for some people.

It's not essential for me, I've been driving without since April, it's just that I prefer to have it. Thanks for telling me anyway.

Essential for some people???

I know pensioners who drive 1960s V8s weighing nearly 2 tons without power steeing.
Unless you have a disability severe enough to qualify for free car under a mobility allowance you dont need PAS on a small car.
PAS is fitted on small cars for 2 maybe 3 reasons.
1) IF a car does not need or have PAS, if the opposition has it then it looks worse on the speck sheet and you may loose customers.
2) It adds complexity and helps to ensure a 10 year old car become unecconomical to repair continueing market for new cars.
3) Small cars are marketted as easy to drive, easiest to drive usually = PAS.

i know that the diesels have power steering due to the weight of the engine
