Ill give you a few examples of our problems. They are ok to buy from, but aftersales is pish!
1. My old 16v Puntos cylinder head went. After putting it into Arnold Clark to get fixed, the mechanic forgot to put some kind of plug or something in, and engine was pissing oil all over the place. Car was with them for 2 weeks and cost £600! And they put my ambi-pur on the vent upside down!
2. My dads Stilo had a recall for the tracking or something. I picked the car up when i finished college, and was just handed the keys.
On returning home, i just happened to leave the steering wheel turned and the inside edge of the tyre was worn down to the canvas! I was told nothing about this when i picked the car up. If i was stopped, 3 points per tyre and i was only 18, so could have lost my license.
3. Stilo was back at dealer 7 times for the headlamp which was filling up with water, and 5 times for the airbag plug under the passanger seat. Finally got fixed after my dad gt a Fiat accessor to take a look at the car.
4. My mk2b (brand new with 4 miles on the clock) was delivered to me with a scratch on the front bumper. They said they would fix it for me. Dropped the car off at 8am the agreed date. Phoned up at 5 to see if it was ready and they hadnt touched it. While in the garage, someone bashed the drivers door, denting it and scoring it. They agreed to fix that too.
I dropped the car off to get fixed and recieved a call saying it was ready. All they had done was get a touch up pen and colour the scratch in. As my car is a flippy paint you cant just touch it up (bear in mind car had less than 100 miles on it), The dealer couldnt understamnd why i was flaming, so i said i wanted the door and bumper re-sprayed.
Got it done eventually, the car was valeted, and filled with fuel.
5. Alternator goes on my mk1. Get AC to fit a recon one at a fitted price i was told of 90 odd quid! Go to pick up the car and was hit with a £150 odd bill.
