Hi guys,

I've decided its about time I had some sort of car security system. I want the following:

Immobiliser
Alarm
Remote central locking
Proximity alert
Remote engine start
Windows up would be nice but not essential

Which one is best for me? I've looked at Clifford and cant seem to find one that does ALL of the above.
What options do I have, and what other features are handy to have?
Many thanks in advance,

Martin

windows up will be good
and also sunroof closure
with a led status on the dash
also how about boot pop up, this will have to bypass the current hand lever on it but is possible
and lights flash when armed and disarmed

all above are other option but you may find quite beneficial

Clifford do all of the above but at a price. Most of your items above will come with a certain unit. The others you will have to pay for extra.

I got a viper 5000 system. It is made by the same company as Clifford but is the American No1 compared to Clifford which is the Uk No1.

I have got everything above for £300 with the exception of remote start. Why any one would want remote start is beyond me.

The viper 5000 also comes with a 2way pager system that tells you when your alarm goes off or warn away.

One advise, if you park your car on a road, stay well clear of the proximity sensor. I had this instead of ultrasonics (sensors in the car that look like mini speakers). It is annoying as F**k. Only saving grace I have is that my alarm lets me bypass sensors etc but not all viper and cliffords allow you to do this.

If you want remote start, viper do another model higher than mine but that is £350-£380 and the window closure and proximities you will still need to buy extra.

There website is www.directed.com This is the main Clifford/Viper Company. Shows you all the alarms and accessories.

**EDIT**

I also have a coold logo on my window that is the symbol of the viper. The flash and look really good at night. Also tells people that you have a cliford/viper before they even attempt to break in too.

Thanks for the quick replies!
Yeah I think I would also like the following:

Windows up possibly with sunroof closure (but not essential)
Dashboard LED status
Boot pop up (need this as I want a boot-smooth)
Lights flash when armed and disarmed (completely forgot about ths one!!)

Cheers again, any more suggestions welcome!!

Window and Sunroof closure. You would need two modules. One for the Windows and one for the Sunroof. (Im glad I have Aircon :) )

Led display, standard to most decent alarm systems.

Flashing Indicators, again standard to most decent alarm systems.

Boot release, can be done but apparently it is very fiddly work, they have to strip half the boot down to get to the lock and cables etc.

Don't forget, if you buy a clifford/viper. You can add accesories as you are going along. So you can buy the main alarm and then add to it when you can afford it.

I'm getting glass/window sensor next then possibly boot release but not sure on that as I never use the Boot LOL.

The window protection is good. If somebody taps, or breaks the window. It will warn or trigger the alarm.

They can't even use a glass cutter on it as the alarm picks up scratching noise it makes.
