Which 3 bar MAP sensor - 1.9 JTD 8v

I'm trying to find a 3 bar MAP sensor for my car (2002 Fiat Multipla JTD 115). I've seen through searching that I need one from a 16v JTD, but in photos they appear different (bolt hole isn't the same).

Why not get one by VIN number from eurocarcare or Shop4Parts? Chances are it'll cost the same and be the right one!

The stock one is 2.5bar and will struggle with the boost levels I'm planning to run.

Hi mate,

Yes thats a 3bar map. Its a 4 pin as it has a temperature sensor as well, so you will need a plug for it and solder it into your loom (ignoring the temp pin as yours is a 3 pin iirc). Its not direct fit but, but I think thats the one most of the guys upgrade to when running higher boost on the 8v's iirc.

I never ran high enough boost on my JTD to need the MAP upgrade, so haven't personally done it. But thats my understanding anyway.

Hang on -- chances are that the ECU will receive the same voltage signal from a 15bar one as a 1 bar one. Unless the ECU can interpret the signal correctly, it'll be a pointless mod.

You have to calibrate the sensor to receive the same voltage signal for a higher boost level, so for instance if the 2.5 bar map sensor receives a 4.8v signal when the boost reaches 1.5 bar (+1 bar atmospheric) then you calibrate the new sensor to receive a 4.8v signal at 2 bar (+1 bar atmospheric)
