Not so well as you say. I have something to ponder over. My 54 Ulysse JTD Dynamic, windows didn't work after some huffying and puffying a new motor and stuff they go up and then come down at a press of a button. Fancey that.

This is where my problem comes in. . . In fixing the windows the garage had to disengage the battery thus turning the 'CHILD LOCKS' OFF.

On phoning the garage it appears the Ulysse's needs to be fitted to a computer. What happened to a little button . . flick it on or off as you please!

Is this Fiats way of making money or is there a way round it. Please Help Me :bang:

... but I thought the child locks were simply a function of the big button at the base of the driver's window controls?

The computer they are referring to is the Examiner, a great bit of kit that I have had a go with ;)

The procedure should take a matter of minutes, and is accessed via the OBD port under the dashboard. IF the garage caused this problem, they should fix it FOC, even under warranty possibly.

Be interesting to see what other options have defaulted back.

BTW, welcome to the forum :)

You could be right ;) - be interesting to note if Examiner actually disables certain functions from happening.

Would take longer than few minutes as you need to reset all the body computers operations, requiring codes etc.

Examiners good piece of kit? Ever tried the Ford WDS computer, now thats a cool piece of kit

Me too. If you press the big button near the window switches on the drivers door what happens now?

Ok, a few minutes was a bit 'tongue in cheek', but it is not such a complex operation that requires hours and hours......

And sounds like the Examiner is a hunk of junk then. Cool :)

Thanks for your help guys. On the way home the door sensor showed back door was not shut properly, pulled in and reached over the back and the child lock was on. Pressed the button buy the window controls and the child locks were off.

It appears you and now I know more than my Fiat/Alfa garage in essex . . . You might know who they are.

Sales team good, helpful, Service Team ?????? I'll let you know in due course. :p
