I have a question which is spinning around in my head for quite a long time already:

I got standard Xenon lights from the factory. But at a lot of places on the internet I read about the Bi-Xenon option.

How do I know I got the Bi-Xenon or just normal Xenon headlights. Where there 2 options (Xenon or Bi-Xenon) and were they from the start available?

This is my car:

i think bi xenon just mean that there is 1 bulb that is both hi and low beam that use the same projector lens, i don't think your missing out ;)

The Bravo only ever had the option of Bi-Xenon HIDs, this is where the HID does both dipped and main beam, in addition to the normal main beam bulbs.

Xenon is just the gas inside the bulb, so I suspect you have standard filament headlamp units just like 99% of Bravo's.

Easy way to check, is if you have headlamp washers you have Bi-xenon HIDs, if not you've the standard headlamps (y)

I have the headlamp washers. But when I put my high beam on, I just have normal yellow lights as high beam, coming from the inner bulbs. Just like a colleague of mine, who has the same car, also with fabric standard Xenon.

So, I think I only got Xenon, and not Bi-Xenon. With low beam I have my Xenon lights, and with high beam I got normal halogen.

So, thats strange if you say, there was only Bi-Xenon from the factory.

But when I put my high beam on, I just have normal yellow lights as high beam, coming from the inner bulbs.

Should also raise the cover within the headlamp unit over the HID bulb, should be a minor clonking also at the same time.

I'll try and get a video for you in the next few days, it sounds like you have for normal Bi-xenon HIDs.

Best way to test the HID main beam actuator is disconnect both main beam bulbs and switch on the main beam at night and see if the HID dipped beam pattern changes :)

English is not my native language, and this is getting quite hard to understand. But if I read correctly:

When I put the key in the car and turn, both, the outer and inner bulbcovers (lenses), should move. Thats the case on my car.
The high beam gives enormous light! But then again, quite yellow halogen.

Looking forward for a video. I would also make one of my car. Upload it this evening or tomorrow.

Yes that is Correct, but also when the main beam is switched on (with the dipped beam switched on already) 2 things should happen. 1: the inner main beam (yellow ish) bulbs should illuminate. In addition to this 2: the is an internal cover (which you cannot see) within the HID bulb lense which will electronically move and cause the HID unit to point the light up as well as down, instead of just down when in dipped beam mode (y)

Like this, not the best of videos mind you.

That's because the low beam doesn't shut off when high beam is on?

Nope, that should be staying on.

The xenon projector is raised when you use high beam.

The yellow light is only an addition, it's not really the high beam.

:yeahthat:

The yellow 'normal' bulb is more for long distance, the HID projector lifting does everything in immediate area and anything from a long distance which is reflective (IE road signs etc).

Ah ok! Thanks for the information. It's clear to me now!

Sometimes I got a feeling that I can turn night into day. The amount of light is incredible!

Yes. 2 month's ago the original bulbs died. I replaced them for 6000k bulbs. The originals are 4300k.

cool, they look really nice, i put some 6000k led side lights in mine the other day, they look nice. i'll change the rest this month :)

Whoopi! Accedently deleted my post when editting, but wanted to say that they aren't to blue. It's a mixture between white and blue. Not irritating for other divers to.
