Technical Where to fit telematics device

Hi
Anybody know where the telematics device (which I need to fit to my '04 Stilo 1.4 for Churchhill insurance) is fitted in the car? This is a "self fit" item and the insurer tells me that it goes either in the glovebox or behind the dash somewhere around the steering wheel. I have had a look behind the panel to the right of the steering wheel where the fuses are, but can't obviously see where it goes, likewise with the drop down panel in the top of the bottom glove box.
Any ideas - the plug is a rectangular multi pin connector?

It uses the OBD port which is located behind the flap to the right of the steering column, just in front of your right knee.

You need to get down low and look up above the fuse panel, possibly with the use of a torch and will see the OBD port at the top of the panel.

The above location is on a 2002 JTD, but if it's not there it cannot be far away!

This is the 16 pin OBD connector at the top of the fuse box for right hand drive models.

Thanks for the replies on this. Actually, my initial post contained some duff info - plug in part of the device is not rectangular after all, the top and bottom sides are not of equal length so its more like a regular triangle with the top cut off! Like a scart plug, kind of?
So it won't fit the OBD port just north of the fuse panel. Maybe I have been sent the wrong one, so looks like a call to the supplier will be required! Anyway, thanks for the help in the meantime, might be back on in the next few days.

That sounds like an OBD plug to me.

Hi folks
Belated thanks for all the help on this - managed to locate the plug into the socket, so success in that respect, but turns out that the device triggers a fault in the car's systems which manifests itself as the speedo needle dipping for a fraction of a second (but not enough to fall back to the resting point) and the "loose connection" message and yellow triangle flashing briefly flashing on - the company are going to send me out a different version which doesn't conflict, seemingly.

never thought these were a good idea, Dash Cams are so better because if you have to pull an emergency stop, register it as braking hard and as reckless driving, but a dash cam shows why you braked hard. so pleased I am old enough not to have to worry about these types of devises.
