Re: Re: where should i mount some v5 badges (suggestions)

the v5 badges that they put on the 170bhp 5 pot golfs
its a silver V and a red number 5

Re: Re: Re: where should i mount some v5 badges (suggestions)

Best place to mount them... On a...Golf?! maybe, not worthy of being near the arse of a @Bravo

Re: Re: Re: Re: where should i mount some v5 badges (suggestions)

maybe your right dude! what i would give to have an engine that actually glistens in the light! im havin a time scraping the moss of mine! wouldnt have bothered with v5 badges! get a fiat abarth badge!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: where should i mount some v5 badges (suggestions)

got one of them as well (i did say sensible suggestions) but thanks anyway

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: where should i mount some v5 badges (suggestions)

how much the badges cost tho? just to see what it would look like an a HGT

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: where should i mount some v5 badges (suggestions)

they cost about 9 quid each plus VAT of course. don't know why they just can't tell you the full amount.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: where should i mount some v5 badges (suggestions)

cheers, ill look into it, dont suppose anyone knows how much the HGT badges are some bastard has hacked mine off! got a scratch across the boot too! ****in bradford!!!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: where should i mount some v5 badges (suggestions)

I think the best place for a v5 badge would have to be on the right hand side of a meshed airdam at the front....similar to where the small back/red SR badges are on some of the sporty 206's

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: where should i mount some v5 badges (suggestions)

i thought you could't get them seperate the badge on the boot is connected to the bravo part of it

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: where should i mount some v5 badges (suggestions)

i was thinkin of putting yaris on the arse of my bravo.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: where should i mount some v5 badges (suggestions)

Why on earth put v5 VW badges on a straight 5 Fiat?

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: where should i mount some v5 badges (suggestions)

every badge from the back is gone and its all scratched to ****! was just wondering if you could buy badges separate from somewhere, i had an abarth badge hacked off and just left underneath my car?! why wud anone wanna do this? hehe

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: where should i mount some v5 badges (suggestions)

yeah you can buy badges from ricambio's have a look for then on the net or il give u there number if u want

Re: Re: Re: where should i mount some v5 badges (suggestions)

Umm.. yeah, the 5 pot golfs are V5 engines (V6 with 1 missing).

The bravo HGT is.. umm.. not. Its an inline 5.

Slight difference.

Re: Re: Re: Re: where should i mount some v5 badges (suggestions)

I was going to suggest that you put them on a car with a V5 engine, but i see i'm too late

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: where should i mount some v5 badges (suggestions)

Tom... Please please please excuse me if I am wrong, but I could of sworn that the 'V5' Engine from VW in the Golfs, Boras and Passats is a straight-4, 2.3 Litre petrol engine. Not 5 Pot.

Like I said please excuse me if I am wrong, but I do know my VW's!

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: where should i mount some v5 badges (suggestions)

smug mode on

2.3L-150hp--v5.jpg

Count the plug leads..
One
Two
Three
Four
FIVE! :)

The V5 is the VR6 engine with a cyl missing.

Either way, the HGT is not a V5.

Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: where should i mount some v5 badges (suggestions)

True.. but I could of sworn that it was a 4cly engine.

...I even went to VW a while back to 'ask' about the V% Engine beacuse I was so confused. I thought to myself, how can you have a V5 engine? 2cyl's on one side and 3 on another? deosn't make sense!

The guy at VW suprisingly had no idea.

hehe
