Hi could anyone advise me as to the correct torque settings for a fiat ducato based motorhome on a MAXI chassis (MGW 4250KG) fitted with 16 inch fiat alloy wheels. One dealer tells me 125Nm but a second tells be 180Nm
I don't want to over tighten the studs nor do i want the studs to work loose, can any one offer any advise I rang Fiat UK but they did'nt know all they could advise was to ring yet another dealer " where do you stop".
THANKS IN ANTICIPATION.:)

I've always thought the best tightness for wheel nuts is just enough for you to undo them to change a wheel! I tighten mine in the usual way then apply foot pressure on the wheel nut bar. After about 100 miles, check them again. Never had a problem in 25 years of driving.

87-94 all listed as 160 Newton metres
94-02 all listed as 160-180 N M
hope this helps

my 15" wheels on an 07 plate is 160 nm

This is the relevant page in the workshop manual for the X250 (Ducato 2006 on), but it makes no differentiation between steel and alloy wheels.

Did any of the dealers give you a figure for alloy and/or steel wheels, these figures both look right, the lower one for alloys, the higher one for steels. I'd take the advice, and ring a few more to see if there is any agreement.
