Thought these may be of interest. I got quotes from three different main dealers for the 18,000 mile service in my 2011 Punto Evo, in and around Hampshire:

Bishops, Guildford - £339

SGM, Southampton - £293

Alan Gibson, Basingstoke - £269

Went with Alan Gibson in the end (SGM being my usual dealer), and they did a good job. Even collected and re-delivered my car. They even did a 'unique' 40 point check on the vehicle, plus a wash and hoover of the footwells... uniqueness of the 40 point check I'll take with a pinch of salt.

Bishops obviously think they're a cut above everyone else.

How do these quotes compare to others?

Luke.

Just check what they are offering for that price as I think you may be surprised at what little they do.

I bought our doblo from Picadilly Walefield there and I remember being quoted a very similar price. I called the day before it was due to go in to confirm the price and what would be included and ended up cancelling as it was just the oil and filter and them trying to justify the price with how much time they spend looking over the car.

My local garage did a full service using genuine parts, resetting the oil counter and service light for about the same price with a stamp in the book and a winter survival kit.

I know what you are saying but trained techs on doblo's know 'exactly' where to look for issues and forthcoming faults as they are in contact with Fiat.

I always advise the first 2 (or 3) services done by a Fiat dealer (shop around of course) then DIY or local garage however you pays your money so you takes your choice.

I had mine done just before Christmas. My two most convenient are Bishops Guildford and PDH Worthing. Bishops quoted £339 and PDH quoted £220, so guess where i went? Quite how the difference can be so stark is anyone's guess!

Having had one or two dealings with Bishops and not been overly impressed (albeit nothing major, just general attitude), I would be reluctant to use them in the future. PDH had a friendly air about them and everything was handled well. I have to say if I was in the market for a new Fiat, I would certainly only be considering one of the two aforementioned (Unless Bishops price blew the other out of the water, which seems unlikely!).
