I red-lined the punto coming out of a junction last night and the anti-slip thingy kicked in as well. Definite smell of burning rubber and as we're in to double figures for temperature I suspect my winters lost a wee bit of tread

Much fun though

Got my work laptop back today fixed up and able to login remotely, should make working over the bah humbug season far easier.

Having a rake through a suitcase of clothes from my thinner days and finding a leather coat I forgot I owned. It nearly fits too so I reckon it'll be in use shortly :)

I wouldn't bother with the fault code reading, they aren't complicated, only really 3 or 4 fault codes it can throw for what we're looking for, can possibly throw down the wrong path if it's not showing codes and the sensor is reading values in parameters but at the wrong times.

Moneys on coolant temp sensor.

Anyway, tomorrow afternoon off, away to look at a "potential"... ;)

Just unplug it. (blue plug, back right side of inlent manifold) Very unscientific test, but i found that unplugging it when it's already dead/dying on the cinq had no negative effect and the exhaust smelt a bit "fuelly" as it did with it on. When i replaced it the cars exhaust instantly didn't smell so rich, felt sharper on the throttle etc, then when i unplugged for a test it knowing it was now fine, the car misfired briefly and went back to smelling like it had a fuel leak, plugging it back in almost instantly smoothed out everything. Seem to remember my idle dropped a good bit too with a good sensor.

Basically if it has no effect when you unplug and reconnect, it's needing changed.

Fwiw, i'd be tempted to just stick the whole inlet/tb etc from Fiasco on it given the coolant sensor is on the inlet and we're not too sure if theres any issue with the TB, either injector wise, flow wise or icv wise. but for the sake of unplugging one sensor, it's worth a wee look.

received a 1litre bottle of vodka from one of my suppliers and judging by my workload will be getting out of the office for another good spell next month. hopefully can secure the 500L hire car this time
