The wife had a minor accident with the neighbours car (wife reversing out of drive and neighbour reversing on MAIN ROAD accross path of my drive and both cars made contact at rear) back in early Jan '10.

Phoned insurance companies and received letter from neighbours side stating the missus was at fault. Wife refused to accept blame and completed all relevent paperwork sent by her insurance company.

This was done approx mid Jan '10 and since then nothing from either side......
Wife not bothered as minor dent to the rear of her beloved Punto HGT but willing to live with it so hasn't bothered to call her insurance company back.

Can anyone tell me what might be happening as neighbours car still has not been mended either and now it is July?

highway code says you should reverse into your drive and drive out, so it will be quicker if your wife just admits fault

I can understand if neighbour was reversing into her drive but surely you should also not be reversing in a straight line on the Main Road for no apparent reason?

Dave's right, law states no reversing out onto roads.

Can you explain? So because you couldn't see a reason for it then it shouldn't be allowed?

I reverse several meters down our road on ocassions to get into a parking space. Should that not be allowed

They might be settling in other sides favour for all you know
