A little :Offtopic: but i know how ya feel man, bought my beetle of ebay bout 2 months ago and altho looked mint wen picking it up, now i stripped it found out gonna cost £1500 worth of wealding to floor pan and seals to get road worthy :bang: Think ya self lucky ya got another shell man :( .

Good luck with all the work Bushboy.

I think it's great when someone's able to do what you're doing. With these cars so cheap to run, it can sometimes make sense just to have a fleet of them (y)

Yeah i am totally gutted, but i was kinda expecting some work for being 40 yrs old just not that much lol.

Spoke to my usual body work garage and he thinks that expensive, (thats a quote from a beetle specialists) and he knows someone quite close who he thinks could do it cheaper and does custom hot rod jobs, Thinks he could weald it up and chop down the roof for a hot rod style look (c below) for about £2000 so i might go ahead with that. Its all in bits at the mo in my garden rdy to go to wealders wen i have the cash

Wat ya think of it below,

Sorry Bushboy, should get back on topic.

Does it really need a cat? I mean, I thought that as long as it passes emissions test it's fine?

Then, you could get a custom manifold back thing made up from somewhere like powerflow...or source the whole lot from a carb Uno (check ebay).
