whats going wrong?!!

my 1.4sx bravo has recently stopped starting first time, and has sometimes taken 3 or 4 go's to get it started =(
when turning the key the ignition turns over but the car doesnt fire up!
im thinking starter motor but does anyone know what this could be?

it was last serviced in feb 05.
its just really strange that sometimes it will start 1st time and other times it wont!lol.

Is it different when hot to cold?

if its only just been turned off (warm) it will start up first time,
but if its been left for 5 mins theres a chance it wont start until the 3rd or 4th try =( its really ramdom tho!!
any ideas??

It may be your starter motor - it sounds like what happened with my 1.4sx 98 R reg Bravo - it started to do that - turning over and over then catching, but it got worse and when you turned the ignition it sounded like the battery was dying (even though it wasnt) and wouldnt turn over at all.

I got a new starter motor for £172 all in and have not had ANY problems since.

i got exactly the same problem with my bravo, according to the fault code (read by a fiat dealer) on the ecu, was my immobiliser not lettin my fuel thru : ( new key and transponder got it sorted tho : )
