What would you change?

in the morning on the way to work after the car has been left over night, the throttle is very touchy and so a very "jerky" ride is the result. Also if i stop at a junction etc the revs will stop at 2000 and the next time i stop 1500 and back and forth like it doesnt know what its doing until it eventually stabilizis at 800.
The weired thing is after its been left at work for 8 hours its fine on the way home. It seems it only happens when its very cold.
I think it may also be over fueling slightly.
I suppose i could just put up with it as it only happens in the morning but it is slightly annoying and with the winter coming it may get alot worse and its still under warrenty at the moment.
it seems to point at a few thing:

Pressure sensor
idle air control valve / potentiometer
electronic choke?

Cars a MK2 1.6 16v. 24000.

thankyou for any help

My HGT is also very jerky, especially in lower gears, but i don't get the high revs that you have mentioned.

In the morning, when i start the engine, the revs are about 1200rpm, but after a minute they sit on about 750rpm, and are pretty stable.

I notice it most in slow moving traffic, when i'm in first gear with no gas, then just touch the gas to speed up just a little bit, it seems to jerk forward as if i give it about half throttle.

I'd like to know what advice you get given, as i may be able to apply some of the logic with mine

This happens to mine as well,

Just to point out that you are not the only one.

Re: Re: What would you change?

yep and mine :) i bought a car cover (stop laughfing) for over winter so i can keep smow/frost off it etc, this morning i used it for the first time and it must have made my car so embarased it wanted to get to work asap to hide in the carpark, flew here, lol

Re: Re: Re: What would you change?

so i guess possibly it is a bravo thing then. im sure i can live with it.
the pro's overweigh the cons on the bravo!

Re: Re: Re: Re: What would you change?

I think all bravo's suffer from the idle control valve clogging up (and alfa's), i've cleaned mine out 4 times now and it's starting to go again. Just out of interest, if u floor it to 6500rpm does it start to behave? Mine does :)

Thats about right for the 1.6. Live with it :)

Its when it sits at 3000rpm when hot that you need to worry.

Also, as yours is a Mk2, the idle valve is part of the throttle and cannot be removed or changed without changing the entire throttle.. nice design decision Fiat!

Mine is fine.......no throttle/rpm problems.
