Hello. I have texted before as i have always wanted a Abarth but I couldn’t really afford it ( for now ). Used to work at a local dealer for Abarth/Fiat/ Alfa Romeo. I have always been a fan of Italian cars like my dad. Had 3 Alfas and loved them sadly now I can’t afford one too as the classics have become well, classic prices and new ones are still expensive. Middle ones are rare to find in good shape and am not really a fan of what the 159 does in terms of handling and driving, tough it’s beautiful. I still have a 90s GTV that I’m gonna restore after 5 faithful years of daily driving, sadly it’s just not a daily anymore. So I have always tought of the idea of I can’t afford an abarth I can make one ( kinda ). I know what mods I had to do but last week I saw a local ad for a GP on sale that had a lot of the mods and now pushes 179 hp and 280 nm ( dyno confirmed ), and called the dude. He said he got it from a friend as it was a good economical car ( he used to drive a S class so I get where the economy comes from ). The car is in good shape and I like it, what am I supposed to watch for ? I know generally T-jets are very durable and good engines, the car is overall very sturdy too ( well I know the electric steering rack sometimes likes to go kaput ) but I don’t know much of the other problems if they have. Can anyone give me info on what to look for when going to see the car ?
