Thinking of purchasing some spares in case I have any failures, just to get me home. I know from past experience that an accelerator cable is a good idea along with a clutch cable. I can live without a speedo if that busted and probably get away without a starter pull cable. Handbrake is not a must.

If running standard ignition, a condenser, points and maybe a cap. Some spare bulbs would be a good idea. All fairly cheap items.

Anyone else think of anything else?

Hi Tony
One of the most important items is a spare fan belt as if it breaks then you have no cooling. Also I carry a spare inner tube and bits & bobs that might help with a roadside bodge to get you home, things like some spare nuts & washers, a length of electrical wire, some cable ties and a piece of electrical block connector can rejoin wires and broben cables & some insulation tape. :)

Thanks for that fan belt is a good idea along with the other bits. Block connector is a stroke of genius for wires and cables.(y)

Duct tape & WD40, if it moves & shouldn't use the duct tape, if it should move & doesn't then use the WD40!!!
