What should I do?? Pick an option.

Working under the assumption that i have done some serious engine damage I'm exploring my possibilities and need some well informed opinion.

option 1) there is a bodywork damaged marea weekend 155, buy this and use parts from my HGT to make it runnable (bonnet, wings, slam panel, lights) while i get the HGT's engine repaired.

option 2) the HGT already has a gearbox issue, synchro is damaged, so buy the marea and use it as a doner for parts.
Is an engine swap possible into a 147 from a 155, or better to strip the engine and replace the damaged parts?

option 3) Buy a marea 147 engine I have seen advertised and swap it in

I need to make some sort of choice over the next few days, so some detailed whys and why nots would be really appriciated.

option 3 will be the simplest mate

i dont know what the differences are between the 147 and 155 but if the differences between the mk1 and mk2 1600 are anything to go by it will be a bit of a pian in the arse.. Ash and i ended up relocating sensors etc just to get it working due to different positions!

a staright swap like ofr like, although it will be abit of agro wont be that bad. just try and make sure its a decent one then rent an engine hoist for the weekend and get a dood run on it. the swap shouldnt take more than a weekend even on your own as long all is as should be, especially if you can get it to your work, plenty of space to crack on there

@andy and Oz, i need to find somewhere to do it (if it turns out to be the best option)

if not i may just strip it for parts, bodywork is all good, and door cards, wiper motors radiators etc are always needed
