Just wondering, what is it exactly that makes some stereos so much better than others? Is it the components, or the board or what? Is it possible to make the stock grande stereo 'better quality' that gives out a more bassey sound?
There's many, many factors to the perfect stereo but the perfect stereo in one car can sound like a cheapo tranny radio in another.
Some people screw their speakers to the card in doors or to the parcel shelf - but these surfaces aren't suitable because they are too flexible.
You might get an idea of what a system sounds like in a shop or in halfrauds but again - not suitable because you will aslo be subjected to multiple echoes of the myriad of hard surfaces.
Mainly the processors and DAC. A stereo alone wont make a sound system more or less bassy. Adding better equalising, active x-overs with slope control, levels for each speaker and time alignment to get harmonisation would.
Simple answer would be to add sound deadening to the doors and a small amp.
