T Tom Guest Oct 25, 2005 #2 The ohm rating of an amp is what it can drive. You need to know the ohms of the speaker you want it to power. An amp that can power a 2ohm speaker will not work with a 1ohm speaker. But it will work with a 4ohm speaker, but will give less power.
