Hi Folks

As above , apologies if this is done to death elsewhere. But on mediomish journeys (around 70 miles) my car temp seems to rise over half way to the first graduation after the half way mark on the temp gauge. From what i can tell the fan doesnt seem to be cutting in (although it may be so subtle i may have missed it). Therefore to avoid overheating I have been pulling over and letting the engine cool a little before continuing.

Am I being overcautious or is this engine running hot?

Any help appreciated.

When car is warmed temperature should stay at the middle of the scale (90°C). Very small variation is normal (85-95°C). But 95°C is ussually reached in summer. I doubt you run your car so hard to reach 95°C in winter. And fan must turn on when temperature goes above half of the scale

Hi,

Sorry not aware of what actual temp is at each graduation on the temp gauge..so from your post above are you advising then that this is over heating..?

Thanks

Doh!..sorry just reread ur post..so 5 deg variation is normal..
