Found one at a local garage, its an ELX with a 90 badge on the side and has a price of £2.5k for a 96P reg with 38k on clock (genuine maybe not)

I think its a little steep, but am curious to what engine it is, is it an early 85sporting but in classy ELX spec, or is it a 1.4 or what.

BTW garage doesn't know which engine it is either (good considering their trying to sell it)

ELX 90 means ELX spec (probably power steering electric windows, headrests etc) with 90 bhp. Not sure which engine that will be but could be the 1.6... someone else will know.

The 90 is the old 1.6 8-valve unit. It was replaced by the 85 which is the 1.2 16-valve. ELX is the top-spec Punto, like Dr. P says its got all the toys. As for the price, check it out on www.parkers.co.uk
You should be able to get a list of standard equipment on the ELX from here too :)

i asked them again and on the insurance and tax doc's its a 1.6.

I know ELX is top spec, but was curious to which engine it was.
Thanks.
It is rather tatty on the outside, as its white, with a lot of green lime on it YUK!! Horrible trees
