although it suggests there is a problem with the fuel injection system you should think of it as the engine management light. almost any sensor fault or out of range value can switch it on. unlike most other engine management fault systems the bravo/a doesnt need to have fault codes erased, that happens automatically once the fault is fixed. a nice feature imo.

The light should come on briefly when you start the engine, then go off and stay off. If it's on at any other time and there's no clues from noise, performance etc. a diagnostic may help.
