I Have Recently got myself a punto mk1, and the sound leaves something to be desired!! I don't want to spend masses! And Know bugger all about I.C.E configurations but

I want a good head unit that will play from my ipod.

I plan to replace the speakers (but is there much point?) will i get better sound if i swap from the factory fitted speakers?

Lastly I found this http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/...265-31371-33921-98183_parentcategoryrn_98185#

And it sounds perfect for what i want, but what do you guys think

I have just done my Sound system and I am very happy with it.

I managed to get all my ICE from halfords as they are good at that and that only lol. )and De-Icer)

my head unit is Pioneer it has all compatabilities (wma/mp3/cd-r etc.) and also has an aux lead so u can play any MP3 player through it.

I would suggest replacing the front door speakers and even tweeters if you are feeling adventorous lol. I got Vibe ones (tweeters and speakers that fit in door).

i put some 6x9s in my parcel shelf for extra boom but thats optional.

as for your Bass tube i looked at that one and it looks very smart and will fit nicely. BUT it has a built in amp which will reduce compatability and performance. I would suggest a separate Sub and Amp.I managed to get a deal with a Mutant Sub and Amp together but i do not know if the deal is still on at Halfords. (bout 100 quid)

Hope that helps(y)

If you dont want a record breaking system then it should be fine, and if your head unit does not have a line out for an amp its brilliant, however if its got one, get a seperate sub and amp, you can get both for £100

agree with above... BUT personally i would not get a fusion sub ----- often unreliable and sound isnt the best, you can get better for the money (y)

Cheers guys think as my h/unit had line out i will go for sub and amp!
Any recommendations?

wen you buy a sub dont look for thw max power. look at the rms power because thats wat it normally operates at the bigger the number the better the sound.

the bigger the number the louder the sound normally, sound quality is different to sound volume... quality comes at a high price and with expensive brand names.

:yeahthat: More or less - power isn't the be all and end all to being loud though.

There are numerous things that make a sub sound better than another - for example the materials used, the pure design, the box the sub is put into...
