Hi all, looking for some advice. I am going to be having some alloy wheels refurbished and so have the chance to change their colour. I'm not a fan of silver alloys as I don't think they think any better than wheel trims in most cases and also they're that common they have become pointless.

Anyway rant over what would colour would you all say?

I'm thinking black but I don't know how black alloys on a black car will look.

Too much black would look over the top, to pull it off correctly if you were to have them done black then have a lip done on it like in red/yellow/white etc to break it up a bit and paint your calipers to match the lip.

If not have you thought of going for gunmetal?

hijack:devil: but what would you all say to wheels for a white car? also all 4 of my callipers are still broom yellow. from when i had em on my old cento what would look best?

On your car craig, I'd say keep 'em silver - with all the little accents of colour, the wheels would stand out too much imo ... although if standard alloys, the black inset idea might still work

Will have to think about this idea, would definately make them stand out, just not sure if where the black and white met would look any good.

Your best option would be to do the whole wheel white first, then once it's dry mask off the face of the wheel to give a crisp edge for the black sections. Give it a couple of coats, remove the masking tape, lacquer and bam! Done :D

Very crude I know but all I have to work with is paint :D

Very cartoony ;)
But yeah, pretty much exactly like that, with the car being black it'll give the illusion that your wheels are bigger than they really are. This is going to look like an odd example but, what size do you think the wheels are on this ol' 500?
