please help me i got a cinq 1.1i sporting i need to know what i can put on it to make it go faster i already got an induction kit just need some pro help thanx (y)

Decent exhaust set up, decent induction set up, decent wheels set up (the 1 you are wanting you are wanting in your other thread isnt the best) Shed weight wherever possible (loose back seats if not in use etc)

Engine conversion either 1242 or turbo, have a decnet bank balance for these, under 20 years old and wanting a turbo conversion....stop dreaming

Dont forget to declare all mods

1242 is the forum name for basically a 1242cc conversion using a punto engine FAQ will help you out with that :)

Wouldnt get on wrong side of rallycinq....you may need him one day :)

how much am i looking at for a new 1242 engine then.

New? A short engine is the best part of 1500 quid from Fiat. Cheapest way is to get a good running MOT failure Punto 60 and being capable of fitting it yourself. It is just about a bolt for bolt swap.

kk cheers guys so any idea on the wheels i made a thread no come back can i put 15" with low pros on my cinq its been lowered tho

Depends on tyre size, offset and width of the alloys and how much it's been lowered by. They are too large for a Cinq IMO.

On a serious note, it would help if you could tell us how old you are and how much mechanical experience you have. As has been mentioned, if you're under 20 years old then the chances are you won't even get insured on a car with performance mods. Also, unless you are prepared to get your hands dirty and put in a good deal of work, an engine conversion will cost you a small fortune.

If you're thinking you can bolt on a few £50 'kits' and get big power then I'm afraid you'll have to stop dreaming. Big power costs money, time and experience not to mentioned bloodied knuckles. It will be far cheaper to sell your Cinq and buy a faster car in the first place than try and modify it. But if you can do the work yourself AND you love your Cinq then by all means go ahead - a well sorted Cinq is a fun little car.

You'll also find plenty of information on the Forum about performance mods (there's a comprehensive 'guides' section) so have a look round. Chances are anything you're considering has already been done ;)
