I am trying to decide which component is causing a misfire between 1500 and 2000 RPM. I have cleaned the EGR valve and the sensor on the inlet manifold. The sensor I am enquiring about is the Bosch one on the air intake (Air filter area) side. It is described as capacity measurer on EPER.
Here's hoping

Have you checked the air filter is clean? I`ve been unlucky enough to have had 3 Air volume sensors go down on me on the Marea jtd105 and the Croma but the symptoms are ;- no acceleration at all with it only picking up speed with the throttle open just a small amount and having to use the gearbox a lot more.I did have hesitation on acceleration when the air filter was shot and i was waiting for a K&N filter to arrive from e-bay, it stopped as soon as the K&N was fitted.:)

Thanks for that, I will have a look tomorrow and will advise

Having cleaned EGR, Boost sensor and hoovered air filter, no improvement.
I then disconnected Airflow sensor and drove 70 miles. The car ran like a dream, no hiccups and smooth delivery. The check engine light came on so I reconnected MAF. After three start and drive cycles the engine light went off and so did my smooth running Croma. Hop, skip and jump once more!
Will have to purchase a new MAF sensor. Ho Hum

Half-related to the thread, another vote for a K&N filter from me.

I've just cleaned and re-oiled mine (a year since I fitted it). It's an extra annual task, but worth it for the nice free-revving feel it gives. You just need to buy a cleaning kit (£8 - £10) every year instead of a replacement paper filter, so the cost is roughly the same.

It also lets more of the turbo noise out, and possibly adds a bit of a hissing noise as accelerating. This is a positive for me - it's a nice sound.

While I was at it I also took the air deflector out of the filter box. This may also be part of the reason why the sound's changed.
