what a stink

every now and then, especially with a newly filled tank or when accelerating hard, the cabin fills with the smell of unburnt petrol can get pretty overpowering.
is it likely to be leaking injector lines, haven't noticed any drop in fuel economy?

The injector pipes are at 3bar pressure, you'd know if they were leaking.

Is it actually the smell of raw petrol or the smell of the engine running very rich?

raw petrol

think the mix is ok. getting around 300miles to a tank - town and motorway. i drive fairly aggressively

Could be the filler neck or the pump/sender assembly is leaking.
