In true Sunday fashion I decided to clean my most reliable Bravo yesterday. Particularly in my mind was the fact the MOT was on Monday. After getting the car as near as my house as possible, blocking numerous other cars, I washed away a couple of months grime and bird muck. Imagine my horror when, after 16 months of perfect motoring, she suddenly refused to start. She turned over beautifully but nothing further happened. I lost it. I contacted various people but no one's hints did a thing. I started sweating and without reason tried bump starting it. Nothing (well actually it made me get quite cross with my wife who I was sure was not doing something or other right).

After an hour of this it suddenly occured to me that I might have disturbed something while hoovering....
The friggin fuel cut off switch!
I reset it and my baby burst into life.

I truly am a chump of unimaginable proportions!

lol where is this switch? is it really that easy to hit without noticing??

Under front passenger seat!Shuts off under impact, stops fuel spillage in an accident and allows you to switch it back on if its safe.

Thats where it is on your 1.4 aswell fergie. little metal box with a black rubber cap on one end. you'll be able to depress a button under that rubber cap if you knock yours.

BTW, you aint a chump. you searched for solutions, and then solved it. Good on ya i say mate!

this happened the day i bought my brava lol :) drove through to glasgow to pick it up and the owner went to start it and it would since i have never owned a fiat i didnt know what it was so i drove back to dundee then back to glasgow 2 days later after he had it towed and diagnosed and it was that little bloody friggin switch so it cost me almost 100 in fuel to get her :)
