Wet sanding first attempt :)

well was bored today so gave a quick study on wet sanding

and this is how it turned out
this is the scratch about an inch long and not to deep perfect starter scratch on the boot panel

after a few minutes with the sand paper of a high grade this is what it looks like and crapped myself hehe

then after the buffing polishing and rubbing to get rid of it i get no more scratch visable

Looks good , i hate that in between stage when doing anything to paint!, i was using colour restorer yesterday and it took 4 polishes to get it looking half decent!

i wonder if that technique could be applied to my stonechipped bumpers, hmmmm

yeah you get to the point where you wonder if you should continue or not but just grinned and bared it and it came up great i tried my big scratch but coulnt get rid of it so it has to be a respray on that part unfotunatly that means a door respray

Yup, i only did half the cinq yesterday, i got so fed up polishing, i really didnt want to continue since the side i'd done was looking awful , got it looking passable in the end though.... then it rained.

not so good about the door respray my bonnet needs one really, and my bootlids a mess and needs totally stripped down tbh, the paints faded and the fillers all cracking where the boot release was smoothed over

thats a bloody good result for the first attempt, just a pity it couldnt do the same for the bigger scratch

That has come up really well.
I remember the first time I tried something similar. Bird **** burn used a souring pad then T-cut and a polish.
It's well worrying the first time you do it.

Its 2 bird muck burns that are the problem on my bonnet its burnt right through to the undercoat/primer. I think id rather leave them until i get round to the bootlid respray than trying to sort them myself tbh. Im tempted to try the bumpers though, ive already sorted a huge bit on the front with some paint and colour restorer. At least mine is solid red tho, metallic paints a nightmare to get a good finish on, so that for a first attempt is brilliant imo

i can film the next one so you can see that im not lying

i may get away with a partial respray as its on the smaller contours of the door and my painter said he could maybe get away with doing just the contours which will only be £60 ish to do so that is hopefully what i will do
