I seem to be having a new and strange issue, with both my wiper stalk and wipers. They don’t seem to be working at all, front or rear, but also the trip button for the display doesn’t seem to be working either. The indicators and left sticks are all working ok, the fuses are good.

No error lights, ECU lights on or codes.

This all started after I had the seats out for a deep clean, I did start the car without the passenger seat which triggered the airbag warning, but that cleared itself with the seat back in.

What could cause them to suddenly stop?

Would a stalk part failure cause just the wiper side to fail, or would both sides fail together as they are a single unit?

Personally I would never put the battery back on while a front seat was out
It may have triggered something that may not show up on the dash but will show up on the ecu

You need to connect multiecuscan to see if any codes show up with a fault
It could be the clock spring (stalk) however someone with more experience will probably be along to help further

No change on battery disconnect, Multiecuscan threw up a few codes but nothing significant, or specific to wipers. Although I could not find any commands to stimulate or actuate the wipers or washers in multi scan, should there be an option for that?

What’s odd is the left indicator and lights stalk works perfectly, but the whole right is dead, neither the front wipers, the rear wipers, the washers front or rear or the trip button.

Thank you for all the input, but now I feel like a twit! Rule number one for checking electrics, is it defiantly plugged in?

It turns out that there are two long thin plugs on the back of the wheel one of which had come dislodged, Lo and behold I now have working wipers! It’s a Christmas miracle!
