Hi sorry if this has been posted before. Can anyone tell me the weight of a panda 4x4. It's definitely an old one but it's not registered or even road legal. I'm going mud plugging in it.

Not sure on either. Maybe you can from the attached picture.

Have you just bought it of ebay?

I would say over 800kg as I'm assuming there are two chunky steel sections going along the sill onto boot floor.

Yes only bought it Saturday. Wanted a small off roader to tow behind my car to events. Gotta say I've never owned a panda but it's quite a querky little motor.

Looks great.
I'd guess at slightly lighter than standard without rear hatch, three bits of glass, wiper motor, etc.
It would be interesting to know the truth.

By the way, there appears to be a small boy trapped in the head rest.. and they're not light. (Small boys, I mean, not head rests)

ahh so you are the one who bought that fun looking panda.

you're not anywhere near Derby are you?
if you are looking for a replacement windscreen for it i have one you can have.
it has had welding splatter hit it, but its perfectly fine and i am sure would still be mot passable. better than having one with massive cracks in it. ill even fit it for you! (i'm on my 6th removal and refit without one breakage.. for anyone keeping tabs :p)
you'll have to wait till im back on the road though as both my pandas are off the road at the moment.

a few things to point out on it that you should check up on..

make sure theres enough gearbox oil in it before you do any off roading. last thing you want to do is end up trying to find a new gearbox for it!

get rid of that gods damn awful "universal" fuel cap! they just let water pour into the tank (i bet the tank has some in it now if it has been left out in the rain). a fuel filler cap from a cinquecento, uno or another panda will fit.
i only know this as my green panda came from farm use and that had one of those universal ones on it. the engine barely ran as it was sucking up nothing but water and caused the tank to rust through. best nip it in the bud before anything happens.

you may not have any issues but if the electronics are going haywire, just clean up the earthing points.

more facts can be found here:
https://www.fiatforum.com/panda-cla...aqs-first-stop-information-fault-finding.html

that would be awesome to get road going again.. not sure how it would fair with the roof being cut off but it does look like a real pickup!

any info you need to know about it, dont be afraid to ask!

Thanks dragonman. I'm in banbury Oxfordshire so a bit far for the screen. Luckily enough my local scrap yard has a couple in so I'm going to do that Saturday. We've completely drained the tank and put fresh fuel in as it had been sat for a few months. The farm rats have destroyed the electrics but as long as it starts and the wipers and screen wash work it'll be fine for off roading. I'll try and post some videos of its 1st outing on the 26th at the local pay and play day. All fluid levels have been checked the day I got it.

I'm used to classic vw's. Linkages are pretty good actually. Shifts in to all gears perfectly.
