Anyone clued up on it. I've done a quick search online and it says shop has to take our old fridge thats packed up back when we buy its replacement, free or charge.

Buying new fridge from Comet and it says £9.99 charge

Think I had similar with a washing machine a few years back but think I got rid in the end due to scrap value, but fridges with their CFC gases etc are a tad different :p

Any comments welcome. :)

did you buy the old fridge from commet?

No, only the new.

I've checked online (lost the link now) says they have to take old, either in store if collected, or collect it if new is delivered with no charge.

CBA with the hassle of arguing though so just going to take it down the tip. Just annoys me that companies legally have to do something but try not to (n)

I put an immersion tank outside at the top of a flight of steps went in to grab car keys before carrying it down the car, was long gone within 60 seconds  Theiving gits :bang::doh:Ahhhh

Just changed my tele with Currys,

The look on the guys' faces when they realised they had to take a 32" CRT widescreen stereo TV down a flight of stairs was priceless :D (for free)

Mind you the guy slid it down the stairs on the glass  and it didn't break :yikes:
