I don't really want to join another forum just to ask a silly question.

Shortening the chassis would mean the finished project needs an IVA/SVA even though it's technically a rebody and shouldn't.

I was thinking of using a Reliant Scimitar chassis to make a Gasser style hotrod with the Panda body but those are near impossible to make road legal in the UK.

Range Rover based platform is a nice cheap base with plenty of upgrading to do later. It's basically the same as doing a Bobtail only with a different body instead of shortening the existing one.

Because Peterborough's body work is so bad I'm looking at Mini Moke, Scamp and Hustlers (Mini Hustler not the magazine although that's mostly what came up in an interweb search) to see how hard it would be to build a Panda 4x4 powered off road Jeepy kind of thing. No more or less difficult than getting the stuoid thing to run right.
