warning light

hi all

i have an '01 brava with no manual!

last night for the first time i had a warning light come on.it was on the left of the sidelights symbol. it was a red circle with 3 red dashes around the left of the circle and 3 red dashes around the right of the circle.

any ideas? steering?

Its a brake warning light, Not sure if it is pad wear or low fluid. Joske put a Diagram with all the dash lights on somewhere.

before you go off to buy some new pads i would check the wire on the left hand pad, They sometimes short to earth when there is plenty of wear left in the pads. In fact my pads were almost new, i ended up disconnecting the wire and tying it up out of the way. Passed mot like that.

its funny you say that cus before my car went off the rd i had stop flashin up everytime i breaked hard.Ive since checked the pads front and rear and they have plenty of life left in them :s

Just disconnect the wire and see if the warning light goes out. If it does just tie it up
