The warning light for the handbrake is coming on every time I turn hard(ish)right, such as on roundabouts. It then stays on for a couple of seconds. Weird thing is that it never happens when I turn left

Anyways does anyone know why this happens?

Thanks

M

Low brake fluid or dodgy connection on the sensor fella.

But don't just top up the brake fluid, it will be low for a reason and you need to work out what the reason is.

Either:
Front pads worn down
or
A leak

Sounds like a duff connection on your pad sensor.

Get behind your front passenger side wheel and you should see a small wire coming from one of the pads. Ensure that this is connected properly into the small clip just above.

i think your brake fluid might be low. as you go round a corner, the brake fluid moves to the side in the reservoir causing the level sensor to drop enough and make the light come on.

Thanks for all the advice. I checked the passenger-side connector and that was fine (good to know about it though - thanks Wimmy)
It was low fluid level and it seems the reason it only happened when turning right is because the tank is fitted at a slight angle

Unfortunately Tom I haven't managed to find the cause of the drop in level yet. I'll keep an eye on it and mention it when she next goes in

it does it on my bravo as well as my punto iv just hav new brake pipes all the way down the bravo and the fluid was filled to the top, pads r fine but its only when i hang it round corners the light comes on!!
i don't think it much of a problem!!
