when goin through my local "arc" carwash the other day i noticed the warning light for the brake circuit come on.

since then it has been coming on occasionally, especially when its been raining alot, but if i press down on the brake pedal it goes off, but then comes on occasionally flicking on and off.

advice plz?

i dont wanna take it to a garage then get my pants pulled down over the prices on things, my mate is a mechanic but hes on holiday so i thought id ask u guys.

Do you mean the brake pad wear warning light? I have this problem at the moment.I have disconnected the cable from the pad until i can have a look. All it does is make a connection to earth via the disc but I have plenty of lining on so i assume it just needs a good brush down

This happened to me after the my bravo went in for a service and i had the front pads changed, they didn't connect the little sensor back properly so my would flicker. Just take the wheel off and have a look, as axle said it may just need a clean.

Hope this helps

Chris

An update on the warning light: Just had a look and the wire going into the pad was brittle from the heat, also was loose in the pad. There was plenty of ferodo left so I just pulled it out. Due for MOT next month but this does not affect it.
