General Wanted: 126/7 to record!

Hi,

A friend of mine is looking to record the sound of a 126/7; door open/shut, engine, exhaust. It would take half a day and be in Surrey. Can anyone assist?

Does your friend realise that a 126 and 127 are quite different ?

As said above the 126 & 127 are very different.

If he's looking for a 127, I can help, but he'd probably have to come to me (Bucks) unless I happen to be going to a show in Surrey.

In an automotive world the sound of a door shut on a 126/127 would be mildly closer than that of a manufacturere from a different country So 127 is good enough.

The location to record is a privately rented airfield as sound recordings need quiet. So if you can help him you couldn't bring the airfield to you

127 & 128 doors sound very similar (as do 124/125 etc), but not the 126. If you want the sound of a 126 door you need a 126. Similarly if you want the 126 engine sound you're definitely not going to get it from a 127's SOHC 1049cc engine (though you will get a fantastic sound!).
