A Black roof does like nice on a mk2 when modded(y)
Personally i think having the bonnet & boot done also is pushing it:p
What ever you choose to do please post some pics up(y) I would very much like to see how it looks.

I have a black 3D carbon on my Mk2a 3 door blue Punto. Will post pics tomorrow if you want. 1,5x3m cost 50€ from UK eBay.

I think the roof would look wicked.
But i do think the bonnet and boot would be a bit to much.
Once youve done it post some pics.
I'd personally say start with the roof and go from there.

Sorry for the delay, only today I got home before it was dark outside.

It's easy to do the roof, but it took me like 5 hours for a solo (and first time) job. I didn't use air free vinyl, but you should. Vinyl can take A LOT of abuse: put it on, bad, remove, heat with hot air gun, put back on, bad again, repeat*infinitum.

I have like 2 small air bubbles, I was installing it out on the sun and it's hard to catch them, plus it was windy as hell, wasps flying, birds ****ting... my cat went missing too ;)

Installed for 8 months and no signs of 'going bad' (car always outside: from -15C to +50C)...

Looks good enough for 30€ (got rice?).

but your steering wheel is on the wrong side :p :p

Ive thought about carbon vinyl but decided against it. But on the right colour car i think it looks good.

If you decide to go with it definatly just do the one pannel roof or bonnet and dont bother with the boot.

If you do get an air bubble in it, use a small needle/pin to make a tiny hole in the center of the bubble, then you can release the air and flatten the vinyl down. There will be a small dot where the hole is, but aot less noticable than a bubble

No, do not use needles to make holes (I did that and 'bubble' starts to grow- water, sun, ice... destroy glue or something).

Just buy (on eBay) air/bubble free vinyl, it has tiny lines on the adhesive side, which allow the air to get out. I met a guy who installed bubble free gloss vinyl on his punto, he said it was as easy as taking candy from a baby and it was 100% perfect. Just a slide with squeegee, and the job is done! But it is a bit more expensive.

PS: I installed vinyl because the lacquer was starting to peel. Will probably have to do the hood too :( Paint job would be to expensive.
PS2: vinyl will not hide any paint chips, missing lacquer spots, dents... it will look even worse when you put it over. I put some lacquer on the spots where it was missing and then polished it over.

Hi guys,

Really interested in wrapping the roof as I really like it! Will anyone please give me the exact measurements of the Fiat Punto Mk2 roof? I'm asking because I currently don't have the car here as it's being serviced and I wish I could buy the vinyl already hehe....Anyone have the exact measurements pls???

My 3 door Mk2a (year 2002):
roof- 110x150 cm (you need 120x160 cm sheet), it has trapezoid shape (front 110 cm, rear 100 cm wide).
boot- 100x10 cm (110x20 cm sheet needed).

Remove top rubber seals (front window and both sides) and get vinyl under!
Get bubble free vinyl, much easier to fit!

Really thanks for your reply mate!! Wanted also to ask about some opinions please?

What would you personally choose between Gloss Black Vinyl, Matte Black Vinyl or Carbon Fibre Vinyl? The colour of the car is Blue (Dark)....Like yours GranDuke's car colour
