My 10 y.o. Croma started to mildly vibrate about 6 months ago, including feeling it through the steering wheel, as I increased speed from 32, 35, up until 40 m.p.h., when it would cease, and behave excellently.
Last Saturday I had two brand new tyres fitted on the front, all wheels balanced, and tracking checked, yet the slight vibration is still there.
I will be calling the Italian car specialist who does my servicing, to arrange a visit, but until then, does anyone have any idea of what may be the cause?
Acquaintances have suggested checking brake rotors and/or calipers, any other suggestions?

Hi,
you don't say what engine and gearbox you have, but I'm assuming it's a diesel with 6 speed manual.
A known problem is the drive shaft CV joint's. These are a type called "tulip" joints due to their shape. The long right hand side shaft suffers most. The common long term fix is to fit second hand shafts and joints from a Vauxhall Vectra C. You need the ones from a Vectra with the R32 gearbox. Make sure you get the center support bracket and the bolts hat hold it to the gearbox. Apart form the bracket bolting to a different place on the gearbox they are a direct fit. Dis my outboard week before last. Only problem was getting the old shaft out but even that would have been easy on a lift.
Search tulip or drive shaft in theis section and you will find a couple of long posts.

Thanks for the input, but it's an automatic diesel
