'Vibe Space' Subwoofer?

'Vibe Space' Subwoofer?

Ok I have 2x Sony Xplod Subs and a JBL 1004e (I think) was 600wRMS.. I thought the amp was very good, the subs lacked quite abit of 'punch.' if you understand me.. Also found that having both subs was weighing the car down and slowing me down :( I thought that deal above was quite a good bargain, just wanted to know if that sub would have better bass? I'm looking for around 800wrms upwards.

Thanks

oh well atm, Ive got a punto 75sx 1.2, but by the time i'll get the ICE, i'll probs have a fiat punto mk2 sporting (1.2 16v)

Well the weight of what you have atm shouldnt make a difference to a MK2 Sporting. I had quite a lot of ICE in mine when i had one and it made no difference whatsoever.
I am saying this because a really decent sub will probably weigh similar to the 2 that you have now.
Also you seem to be under the illusion that more power= more volume. This would be the case if the enclosure and install was done properly. Just buying a prefab box isnt going to get the sound that you are after. You need to build a false floor and bolt a tailor made enclosure to it and it to the cars floor at the very least.
Say that at a guess you are geting 120db atm i am geting around 135db out of 1 10" sub and just 600w RMS.

Ok, well thats good to know on the weight. :) Would getting a false floor etc.. be best left for the professionals to fit? Or is it worth a go myself? Would you recommend that sub though? or are there some sub/amp deals at a similar price that would be a better option?

At that price you would be better off second hand.
For example (shameless plug i know but i recommend these as a steal at £100 new) I have an unboxed SNG Jatt for £50 if you were interested. They are good for about 1400w RMS of clean power

Then an amp like (let me know if you want me to try and source something second hand for you.)

So
£50 + £180 + £50= £280 for way way much better products

A box is relatively simple to build especially if you carpet as mistakes, lumps and bumps can be very forgiving with carpet. Also i can help design your enclosure dimensions.

The false floor can be made by tracing around the carpet and trimming as necessary.

I think I will have to take that sub off you. lol. And that was the amp i wanted originally, so I think I will definitely invest in that. I have a 4 gauge wiring atm, or would that be risky? Thinking about it, I might have to wait a month to get the amp, as with buying the car, its going to take alot of money out of my pocket. But I will definately buy that subwoofer if poss? And I think I will definately need some help on that enclosure!

Well the sub isnt going anywhere as its in a friends car.

He is geting rid in favour of a work van so has no need for them. He wants 60 but hey ho, i got them cheap for him in the first place.
I would offer you my digi amp which is running 700w RMS at 2 ohm but it needs fixing as the gain dial broke. Its ok if you know what distortion sounds like which is more difficult than you think.

I will keep an eye out for a suitable second hand amp for you that way you may be able to save some £ and get some deadening which will be needed.

As it go's he wont need the 0 Gauge kit which is in that car. It is a Dual amp so has distrobution blocks etc and will have everything you need to add an amp for the front speakers. Ill see how much he wants for it if you want. Then you can use your 4 gauge to do TB3 ;)

cool, that all sounds good. Thank you. When would it be possible to buy the sub then?

Okay, well I'm cool to buy it asap tbh, would it be possible to can a hear of the sub before I buy, just so I Know what i'm getting :)

If you fancy coming down to Kent then yeah (y) But we are running 2 but are only giving them 500w A piece but it should show you what you are getting.
