hi all
i have recently bought a jtd multipla in addition to my current 1.6. The car came from an insurance salvage auction although I,m not sure what the damage was. Class D. I susspected it may have been in a flood as there is no other damage but not sure now. It starts and ticks over fine but after about 5 mins it starts to misfire and if i rev it it bellows grear clouds of smoke out of the exhaust. Innitially white like a rain cloud and then it turns dark before clearing on tick over again. There is oil leaking out of the exhaust where the manifold joins the downpipe. Unfortunately i dont know enough about diesels so now I need help. I suspect either a turbo fault, a headgasket leak across the oil duct or if it has been in a flood could this effect it this way? It starts fine straight away so I dont think any of the conrods are bent. There does appear to be a certain amount of blow back pressure through the oil filler cap if this is of any significance.
